| CHARIOT OF CLOUDS TET 38104 [{Storm Shelter x [(sdlg x Tet. Lavender Blue Baby) x Lake Effect]} x (Secret of Contentment x Heartbeat of Heaven)], 34” (range of 32-36”), M, Sev (with lots of dormancy), fr, EMO, Re (incl. some MN instant Re some years), 7”, 3-way branching (1+V or W), 17 buds (with range of 10-20). Dark hot cranberry rose with darker rose eye, pink lavender watermark, pink lavender edge trimmed in ivory, yellow to green throat. I have taken almost 100 pictures of this one and every bloom is different, ranging from super-ruffled and absolutely stunning to less ruffled to gnarly; from flawless to spotted; from triangular to round. Because of this inconsistency, I would say it is more of a hybridizer’s plant – at least in zone 4. Amazing in greenhouse (see last picture) and lots more buds. Very powerful parent and highly recommended as a way to get large, ruffled, hardy flowers with great color (mostly cranberries, hot pinks, and purples).
